St. James Roman Catholic Church

St. James Roman Catholic Church

Described on their web site as Baroque-Byzantine style church, the St. James parish has been serving the Highlands residents of Louisville since 1906. The church was completed in 1913, designed by James J. Gaffney. There is also a school house and a parish house behind the church on Edenside Ave. The familiar orange brick has always captured my eye whaile trolling down Bardstown Road. The morning glow of the sun against the blue sky just makes this building pop.

Window

The solo window looks out towards the alleyway off of Edenside Ave.

St. James Front

The front entrance to the church has many ornate details, with three archways leading tho three green doors.
